You should be able to step up with little trouble. If you are going to 2 inch pipe I'd take out everything before that point so it's all the same size in the end. Okay....when you have a shower, by code it needs to have a 2 inch drain. Well our tub/shower drain has the standard 1 1/4 drain, that goes to a 1 1/2 pipe. Does anyone know if I can get the tub drain in a 2 inch size, or do I just need to make due with the 1 1/4 and connect that with a 2 inch drain line. I originally plumbed it with the 1 1/2 cause I didn't know better, and now I do, and now I need to relocate the drain for my current project, which I will post on later.
