Jennifer,  I'd had  to laugh reading your post. this year I'll be 62 
and just last week   in my back yard somehow got tangled up with our 
big pinic table and  I put a real nice curve into my , long solid 
cane. Now I can go around corners much  easier.  well my sone  stuck  
that curve in another crack  or spacing in the stairs and   put a 
different twist in it.  as for reflective  tape. I bought some  bright 
reddish/ orange  spray paint at Wallyworld/  walmart   and then used the 
handy dandy duck tape   leaving spaces and  then sjprayed  that  sort of 
reflective paint all over.  Lee
