Tom,

For the finish, I left it natural. Use treated lumber and decking for the 
floor. 2x4's for the railings. Couldn't find my framer, so had to go to deck 
screw. They tell me it looks good. Except my wife, who wanted a railing made of 
the fancy spindles and caps. I told her it just isn't going to happen.
Now how it that for being brave, went one can't see the cast iron skillet 
heading ones way.

  I've gotten to really like ramps particularly when going down since I've been 
  dealing with a ballance problem for several years. If I have to go down
  any more than a couple of stairs with no rail, I get
  very very carefull.
