David, I am not sure about the Harbor freight ones but years ago I purchased a similar priced set. I think I have two left. If you have to break a nut use a regular wrench first. I broke the ratchet mechanism in them. So the ones I have left I first use a regular wrench then the ratchet. I just called Sears to see if craftsman makes them. They have two sets craftsman and grip wrench both with lifetime warranties. The one set is on sale for $50 and the other for $60. For my use I would do as you did and purchase the $10 set. Just would not try to break a nut or bolt loose with them. Does Harbor Freight give any warranty, other than the 15 days, with them. BTW, I liked your signature line.
