Twas a hell of a three day weekend.

My plans got a little off as they are wont to do. I ended up working from
8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, on Saturday. I was doing a database upgrade, ran
into some problems, then once I got it back on track it just took damn
long. Because of my being tied up all day, Teresa actually went and
purchased all the wood for the deck landings and hauled it all up the
stairs by herself. I would have helped her of course, but she tends to be
a bit impatient at times.

I wanted to layout all the post holes on Saturday but didn't get to. So I
had to do that on Sunday, which put me behind schedule. We had to pull
down three sections of fence because the stairs will be pretty close to
the fence and we needed the space to work. We did a crappy job of laying
out the post holes because I was being hurried. We rented a two man auger
and the 8 inch bit for it. We also snagged the cement mixer.

Teresa is one tough lady. She helped me manhandle that auger and we
drilled all six holes and managed to fill four of them by 10:00 PM on
Sunday.

We needed to get the rentals back early enough not to get charged for a
second day, so we got up early on Monday and filled the last two holes. I
won't know until I start putting stuff up just how on or off the footers
might be. I definitely screwed up the placement of one of the j bolts and
will have to deal with that when the time comes. That's what happens when
you try to do two things at one time.

Anyway, the heavy work is done. Next weekend I'll hopefully put up the
basic structure for the two landings.

Later.
