  NOT AT ALL...
Be aware of the following correct tire pressure, clean air filter,
unnecessary heavy items in the van, use cruise control whenever feasible,
avoid extremes of braking or acceleration, maintain 65mph on the freeway,
make certain the motor is tuned at factory recommended intervals.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] fuel question for the car guys

  Hi All,
Just changing mail delivery for all of my lists. We were in Canada for a few

days which brings me to the fuel question.
We have a 2003 Grand Caravan Sport all wheel drive 3.8l. When we first
purchased it we were getting 13 mpg city and 18 highway. After 1,500 miles I

switched to Mobil one and the gas mileage had an improvement to 15 and 21
  respectively.
At 40,000 miles I switched to the oil supplied by Chrysler because it is
free as opposed to the $6.50 a quart for the Mobil one and I was considering

trading in the van. The gas mileage dropped to 12.5 city and about 15
highway. This is using 87 octane and only Gulf, Getty or Gas Way non of
  which use ethanol.
Just for a test I filled up with 89 octane and had a significant mileage
improvement. The highway mileage is the best I have ever had with 22.4 mpg
average and 16.2 city. The owners manual states 87 octane. Will I do any
  damage by running the 89?
For the slight cost of 10ยข a gallon more the mileage increase is
  significant.
Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous
  with many resources.
