It depends on what you are looking for and what results you want. For a good workout and inexpensive gym for the every day person. You can do it for less than a couple hundreds U S dollars. I use to buy equipment that range in the hundreds for a single piece of equipment. Found a good workout is what is called something a person will use. In my case it was the basic Gazelle I picked up on sell for less than $65. A trampoline from Dick's sporting goods for $30. Dumbbells that were about 50 cents a pound and a heavy punching bag for $70. The set of dumbbells I worked up from 3 pounds to 12 pounds. I do the Gazelle, trampoline, heavy bag Monday thru Friday and do the dumbbells Monday, Wednesday, Friday. And found the inexpensive equipment fits my needs. My family doctor recommended the weights to go along with the aerobics, for he believes one must work the upper body to get a rounded exercise program. He also recommended stretching exercise be incorporated into the program.
