Dan! chains and furlongs were in "the history of metric measurement" but I
would have liked to see
things like: rods, bushels, pecks, ells etc etc. I could have filed them in
my library of
completely useless information.
I have never heard anyone use the group measures of decimetre and decametre.

Ray,
But you left out all the fun units of measurement. Like, chains, rods,
and furlongs.
66 feet to the chain,
16.5 feet to the rod
10 chains to the furlong. *GRIN*
Lets not even talk about drams and dynes. *GRIN*
At least in my engineering studies here in the U.S. the Centimeter was
used quite a bit.
