You know, this has gotten my brain going though. So here's my thought. As a ham radio operator we do what's called a fox hunt and this is where the idea came from. I think these things could be made cheaply with some small project boxes. If you could get a ham to build a small transmitter that could transmit something in code, like 300 milliwats. then build 4 small receivers that run on 9 volt batteries, you could turn on the transmitter and then on the first go around stop by every post and turn on the receivers anand then on the last round stop and turn them back off. The receivers would run forever on those batteries and the transmitter wouldn't burn them bad either. Of course, a ham would have access to which frequencies could be used without getting into trouble. It's a pain in the butt, but could be done rather cheaply. Who knows, maybe the person who builds them could sell them.

I just replied and said my wife suggested that very thing! I'd be toast by the end of the first half mile, though... Maybe I should get four smoke alarms and a couple briquets of charcoal, I can get smoke alarms on sale two for $12.99 *with* the 9 volt!
