I get the remove the cricket part, but why remove the one leg?

  Yeah this is true, however, if you lived here in Texas where I do and at
  night you go out and can't even see the ground because it's covered in
  Crickets, I don't think it'll hurt to get rid of a few. That is unless
  somebody wants me to box them up and mail them to them.

  Old myths say leave that crickett alone. actually I like the sound of 
  them . do Not dump any more chemicals in your basement, just my
