Bob,

The motor still runs, when I put the trans into gear and lock up the trans
brake it all works. The air+ suspension still raises and lowers the car. My
concern is parts that are made out of unobtanium. doors, quarter panels, the
passenger side and rear glass, hood, right front fender, door, quarter and
tail-gate bumper/rear valance assembly. They have all been broken, tweaked
or destroyed. I am not going to make any decisions until we pull laser
measurements and determine if the uni-body is close to square.

The rear end sitting over is probably a result of the radius rod being bent.
Or the mounting point being pushed toward the other side. As you know
straightening the radius rod will weaken it, and as it is probably welded to
the axle, there goes the entire rear end.

But then, you know a lot of people with really cool toys and it may be a
Phoenix rising to fly once more...

  Bob,

Basically it is a uni-body with added frame stiffeners. Currently the rear
end sits about 2.0 inches off set to the drivers side, both right side
wheels, calipers control arms and four-bar in the rear are bent.
I have a friend who will bring his 3D laser system by this weekend and we
will know exactly what happened underneath.

Well the first thing to consider is if the frame is bent. If so, that's
beyond even a well equipped backyard shop. A frame straightening machine
costs between 30 and 50K as you know.

If it is cosmetic damage, I would want to rebuild it unless there are
reasons you have to get rid of it. Body work is often a fun change of pace
and always rewarding in the end. At least if it ends well...

  Hi folks,

First of all I would like to thank Phil, don, don and tom for their
contributions. Many times when stumped by an issue of accessibility I
  would
ask myself, How would a list member perform this task? If I couldn't come
  up
with a good answer, I would post it to the list and get a good answer.
  Now for the bad news.
Last night at about 7:10 PM while returning home from work Carol and Evil
Camino were struck by a 2007 Ford F350 pulling a 35' goose neck trailer
loaded with irrigation pipe. Thank GOD Carol is fine other than being
  highly
pissed. The El Camino however is a different story. The entire right side
  of
the vehicle is destroyed. She was sitting in the left hand turn lane when
the truck and trailer failed to negotiate the turn. The 19 year old driver
lost control as a result of excessive speed and The trailer began to
fish-tale and slammed both the pickup and trailer into the El Camino.
Currently the El Camino is sitting in my shop with a car cover over it and
  I
am trying to decide what to do.
As I have ended so many messages to this list, "any suggestions would be
  greatly appreciated."

  Larry
