HI All, Well this morning I had to have a serviceman come back because of no heat. I had a new burner installed and somehow this is the second time that air got into the line. This time the service manager came out to try and figure out what is going on. Anyway that is the person to whom I spoke about the vip1000. before he left I showed him the unit and asked about changing the policy. He agreed because he said "you need that kind of thermostat" I told him that before I called I checked circuit breakers, fuses on the furnace then touched the reset button. The motor ran for about 30 seconds with out firing so I called. He agreed by doing those things first there would be no problem with my contract. He then told me one real horror story. A guy to try and save a little electricity purchased battery remote controlled units. When it failed he asked the guy isn't the batteries more costly with no answer. When he replaced the thermostat and fired the unit a lot of water came through the upstairs ceilings. That is just one event that forced them to make that decision. Guess I can't blame him. When he saw my power tools he wondered who uses them. I showed him a few of my projects and he was very impressed. Before he left he said that if he tried to do what I do he would not have any fingers.
