I just tried something and really liked the results. I have a 3ยบ beveled sanding disk for the table saw. The disk is to make edge as smooth as a jointer. Running the board between the fence and disk some non straight surfaces can be transferred. I clamped the straight edge with it slightly over the end of the wood. Since the clamp is on top I was able to use the straight edge against the fence and sand a perfectly parallel edge. Then flipped the board with the clamp removed and sanded the other edge. I am pleasantly pleased with the result. I plan to purchase the 24" version and maybe another 50" and cut it down to 36" I wanted to use my router but must first replace the bit.
