Last weekend I bought a home entertainment center, what a pain in the
arse that was hooking up using my wife's sighted help. It took us near 8
hours by the time it was finished. We did run into some problems along the
way. Like my RF Modulator was burned out or whatever prevented it from
working. So I assume my DVD player was not broken which gave me the
idea to go and buy a Home entertainment Center in the first place. After
installing and hooking up the RF modulator we tried the system out.
Everything worked fine till we got to the DVD player, and that's when we
encountered another problem. We stuck a disk in the DVD and it started
loading and something when afoul. I received a message on the display
stating protected. So I called support and they told me That I'd have to
take the receiver back and exchange it, so we took it back and they did the
exchange, plus had to retrieve our DVD disk that was still stuck in the
first one that we couldn't get out because the receiver locked everything
when we got the protected message.
Okay, here is a question I have. The unit came with a antenna with about 3
feet of wire. You connected the antenna to one of those coaxial cable
connectors, the same size that your cable TV cable is.. This antenna does
not receive very well. Is there a FM coaxial cable antenna that I can buy
that will give me better reception?
