Well there is the 25 foot tape with the 6 inch aluminum tab attached. They run around $30 at most specialty stores. Maxi Aids and so on.
As far as ripping, I have the 8 foot ProGrip guide. It is essentially a toggle clamp that holds the track in place. There are quite a few knock off brands out there now but I don't know how many go to 8 feet. I don't care much for the ones you can splice together. Over 8 feet things tend to get a bit flimsy and I go for the one piece if I can find it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Doucet To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2008 7:56 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] alternative to talking tape measure Hi, My talking tape measure has gone crazy and I need to find an alternative way to accurately measure up to 6 FT. Also, as my accur-rip circular hand saw guide only allows for a 24 IN. cut I am also looking for a way to guide larger cuts. Any and all help is welcome. Thanks.
