I've never gotten anything from them that wasn't great quality. This device, although some what useful, is not what I would call a story stick. It really is nothing more than a yard stick with stops attached. Wood Pecker are known for their high quality measuring devices. If you can read the scale, you can put a mark at the same place every time. Take away the scale and the slots for marking, you might as well buy a rotomatic. I sure do like their triangles and clamping squares. They are very high quality.
