I don't think that there is a correct or wrong answer. I have an old hand held craftsman scroll saw. This saw has a knob on top of the blade that when released you can turn the blade 360 degrees. I recently retired an old cheap stationary jig saw. It had a thin metal 6x6" table with a fairly deep throat. It utilized a coping saw blade. Years ago I picked it up at a yard sale and tried to use it once. Jig saw was written on the top arm. It must have been over 40 years old and made by black and decker. I have my dad's old black and decker hand jig saw that states jig saw on the case. ----- Original Message ----- From: "cheetah" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2009 6:37 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] shopping essentials
well I have to disagree with that statement. a jig and saber saw are the same tool, you hold in your hand and the blade goes up and down. the stationary saw is called a scroll saw.
