Hi all

Well we have decided to replace all the guttering and downspouts around our
home.

We got four quotes all using the same product which is colour bonded quad
guttering and colour bonded downspouts.

The dearest was $500 more than the contractor we decided to do the job.

So it pays to get a few quotes to see who is trying to rip you off.

As it is very high at the front of our place with power lines coming in just
under the guttering, this old bloke was not doing this job.

They remove all old materials and will do the job while you are thinking how
to first remove it and then get the levels right so the water runs away
correctly.

What I want to know is there are many external galvanised brackets which
come from the back of the guttering and rap around and clip over the top of
the old guttering.

All of these have to be replaced because they are not suitable for the new
quad shaped guttering and do not match the colour picked.

These are about one inch wide I was thinking I would keep many of these
scrape off the paint straighten them out and I could make brackets for
various jobs in my workshop.

Has anyone got any ideas about using these brackets other than for
guttering.

Any sensible ideas will be considered, cutting the clipped ends off is no
problem.

Thanks

Ray
