Hi Max, It does have talking caller I.D., however it does not have call waiting caller I.D.
What this essentially means is, if you're sitting by the phone, or anywhere else in the house, as long as you're not on the telephone line at the time, the phone will speak out the caller that's phoning you. If you are on another call, and you receive that illustrious beep signalling you that you have a second call coming in, it will not speak out what the display says, and tell you who is calling. For a sighted person, the phone does that, as it does display who is calling, it just doesn't speak it. I have seen cheaper caller I.D. models that do this also, not tell you who's beeping in while you're on the phone, and they've gone for really cheap, however, with three handsets, digital answering machine with talking set up for it, 7 point something gigahertz range, all for 120 dollars? Well, you just can't beat that price for a mainstream device that will function for the blind. I had owned one of these before, but another model that had just as many limitations, with the no call waiting caller I.D., and all that other jazz, however, this new phone does what the other didn't, that being that it actually speaks when the battery needs to be charged, allowing you to completely discharge the battery every so often, like you're supposed to do with batteries. Or, at least, that's what someone once told me. Anyway, that's what I meant by it not talking, not that it doesn't talk at all. \Sorry for the misunderstanding.
