The drawer pulls in the kitchen are brass and getting discolored. Karen at a
craft show saw someone who had a pile of solid brass pulls for fifty cents
each so she but a bunch of them. Never thinking that the base would be much
smaller. The ones on the doors and drawers have a significantly larger
diameter base and left a ring imprinted in the wood. Today at Lowe's we
found some polished brass washers that are a perfect match to the knobs that
she purchased and the washer fits inside the ring on the wood from the old
knob masking the mark. The only problem is that the hole in the washer is
significant largerthan the screw so aligning up the washers is a little
tricky. I think a little craft glue will help here. Anyway enough history
now for my question. There is nothing on the package indicating if they are
coated. Do you think it will be ok to use as is or should I purchase a spray
can of lacquer. Hate to do that for 22 small washers but don't want another
problem?
These little washers are on the expensive side, 90 cents for a package of
two..
