The regulator on mine works differently.  The tank stays at a high pressure 
while the regulator reduces the pressure in the supply hose.  There are two 
pressure gauges, one for the tank and the other for the post regulator.  As 
the tank pressure goes up and down the pressure supplied to the tool stays 
constant.  Most nail guns operate at 70 to 100 psi.  With a regulator of 
this kind you don't have to worry about nails not going in all the way when 
the pressure is low, just before the motor comes on, or being driven too 
deep just after the motor turns off.
