I soak myine regularly as this happens in a real world situation. Soak them in some strong kitchen solution and then rinse thoroughly. If as it should be, there are nothing but metal parts (no gaskets are still attached) you can bake dry them in the oven. 300f for 15 mins. It works great for me.
