Most times you have to cut off the molded plug and strip shiething and insulation off an amount dependant on the kind of replacement plug you buy. If it is a 3 wire plug, then it is critical you get the wires to the correct prongs.
I'd not fuss too much, straighten it out and try it in an extension cord that's not plugged in till you think it fits well, then let it go till the prong actually breaks, hopefully it doesn't break off in a socket. I've re-bent many prongs and never had a problem. tom Fowle
