I think this is the same thing I bought last summer except it seems it was
called a hammer head. Maybe they changed the name? Anyway, it is about the
size and shape as a cordless screwdriver and uses the same battery and
charger. When you press the trigger a motor runs but nothing hammers. When
you hold a nail on a piece of wood and put the recessed plunger over the
nail head and pull the trigger the motor runs and as you apply downward
pressure to the nail it begins to hammer. The harder you press the harder
it hammers. I think it is about 10 hits per second so the nail goes in real
fast. It does a good job with thick nails. Recently I tried to drive some
long thin nails and it tended to bend them over. I haven't used it very
much yet so I really don't have the feel of it. I think with practice I can
make even these thin nails go in straight. There is no real danger of
hammering the wrong nail. It makes a lot of noise and I would strongly
recommend ear protectors.

Regards.
