These usually use electric heat in place of the propane heat. If you get a 120/12v/propane they usually run a compressor directly from 120vac or an inverter from 12vdc. Propane runs a silent cooling system like the one you have now.
The non compressor units use about 4 times the energy which adds to heating inside the camper.
