  Thanks Dan, maybe that's my problem. I just took it for granted that the 
  wireless end of the router was on by default. Yes, when I set up my desktop 
  to the router, I change the admin user name and password. Well, I'll give 
  it a shot again today, and see if I can get my laptop hooked up.
