Bob, somehow it became way off. When it was raised and the laser aligned with the mark, it cut about 3/8 inch long. It may have never been right. I always made the cuts until yesterday. I as a rule do not usually purchase extended warrenties. Just could not pass this one up. At the time it was a 299 saw on a weekend sale for 199. For $50 I purchased a 5 year extended warrenty. So the saw and 5 years was cheaper than the saw normally sold for. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Kennedy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2009 11:06 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] laser guided saw
Chances are it was right to start with. Most lasers are only accurate when the motor is at its raised point. The closer you get to the wood the farther off the line the laser goes. But if you bought the master protection agreement don't say anything was done and let them fix it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lenny McHugh To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2009 7:52 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] laser guided saw No, there is nothing in the book. They said that the laser beam comes through what looks like a camera lens. They got it close but it is on about a 3 degree angle. Well if Sears can't fix it they will owe me a new saw. ----- Original Message ----- From: "john schwery" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2009 7:24 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] laser guided saw Lenny, are there instructions for aligning the laser?
