yesterday my wife and I did a job we been putting off for 6 months, and that was to wire the sub panel and transfer switch for the generator. It wasn't to difficult, but wasn't sure if I had to pull down the neutral/ground to the sub panel or not. Check the code today with a inspector and found as long as the main breaker box has the neutral and ground bar ind common, it wasn't necessary. But the generator peg tail had to be a 3 with ground rubberized cable. The code called for a 10 gauge cable, but seeing it was a 30 foot extension or peg tail, I went to a #8 gauge cable. RJ
