I purchased the Macklanburg Duncan Smart Tool audible level. It is an 8 inch level but can be fitted into any of their longer frames. I currently have it fitted into a 4 foot frame.
If you want to be able to use the level in more than one frame, you have to make sure you purchase just the smart tool 8 inch and not one that is already installed in a longer frame. I've heard, but am not 100% positive, that if you purchase one of the longer levels, you cannot remove the digital level from it to install in another frame. Hope that helps. -- Blue skies.
