Hi, well I live way above you in New York state. I say we are in Upstate New York but we are maybe a little less than half way up we are 105 miles upstream along the Hudson . we get well below zero temps and I no longer like it. this stairs project was done by my mother in law and I was told the so called footer is no more than the side walk which butts up against the porch and the stairs atop that. but with the stairs leaning in towards the house it also puts pressure on the sewer line which became detached. that has een fixed somewhat but we need to rip all that out and go out in in a different direction. long and short of it is that the ground constantly shifts. thanks.Lee
