Bob, I can remember a hot water line sent to a humidifier. A couple told me
they couldn't afford to operate their heat pump for heat. It was just a tiny
house too. I finally was asked to take a look at it and install a better heat
pump.
They had a flow thru humidifier that excess water just ran down a drain.
It turned out they had the water supply connected to the hot water line. I
asked them who put the humidifier in for them. The gentleman said he did it
himself to save money. I asked if that was just about the time they couldn't
afford to heat their house.
I explained that he was heating his water with electric and sending it
right down the drain with the flow thru humidifier he installed. He said he
figured it would work better with hot water. I said it does, but you can't
afford to heat your house now. His water heater must have almost run non-stop
when he was in heating mode. He really saved a couple of bucks.hahahahaha
