Matt, if you can find a replacement motor for that unit, you probably  
would have an easy time of replacing it. If not, you probably would  
have to go into the attic in order to remove the existing unit because  
it is probably mounted up there. It then is a simple matter of making  
sure the new unit has the same size port for the hose and of course  
that it fits the opening or close to it. If a little larger not so  
much an issue, but a lot smaller could make life difficult if you  
don't have a cover that fits over the hole from the other side.
