thanks dale, let me tell you about animal control in our area. when I had my last guide dog my kids told me about this daily activity of two dogs running and stopping to drop their packages on my side lawn. so I call the local sheriff's office. they tell me to call dog control and give me a number third try they answer and they asked me to capture the dogs and hold them. I said no way. you get paid for this job and I happen to be blind. so back to the sheriffs office and asked them if they had a spare pup shotgun I could borrow. less then ten minutes later I have a cop car in my driveway and they tap on my door. . hey he says there are those dogs. so he pulls up his portable radio ten four and all that stuff and I ask him where is the shotgun I asked to borrow. with a straight face of course. . He asked me why a pump shotgun and I said if I fired a pattern I would surely get one of thos stray dogs.. long and short of it , yes there is animal control and yes we have a leashlaw in this town, but mighty poor work is done. I thought by getting rid of a wood pile early this year we had solved the skunk problem . but guessing not.we have all heard the trem it smells bad enough to gag a maggot. well that was the case here. as for a trap. no thanks but maybe one of those alarms so when mr. or mrs. skunk pass's over the alarm the sprinkler comes on. my luck they would like it.
