I don't know that wax will be any benefit on the moving parts. I'd start with WD 40 and move the parts back and forth until they move smoothly. Then do that as a maintenance program every so often.
Any grease you put on a table saw will become a magnet and any saw dust will stick to the grease. ----- Original Message ----- From: Matt To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, September 20, 2009 11:40 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Lubing crank on tablesaw? Hi ya, I'm wondering what's best to clean and lube the crank for raising my table-saw up and down. It's really tough to turn. I was thinking wd40 and then Johnson's paste floor-wax, but that's my answer to just about anything. Well... I don't use wd-40 much, but I feel a want-too, coming on again here lately. I just read one of their FAQ's on the net. I use it to clean my tool's table-tops and then I go over them with the wax. I have axel Greece, which I use on the posts of my wife's golf-cart, but not sure what else it is good for.
