Lee,

There are two types I looked at. One is the battery operated that can be 
purchased at most hardware stores. I believe Lowes and Home Depot carry them. 
They are under $10. Than there is the AC / DC  types that operate with a float 
that range from 85 to 98 dollars.   I could only find them in a specially store 
like Granger's I got mine at a local pump Store and like it better than the DC 
type, for they  can be adjusted to give you a alarm before the water comes out 
of the sump bucket. Since I installed it, has saved us one clean up in two 
years And if we never hear the alarm again, the one time it saved us a mess, 
was worth the $85..

  Not sure R J but I think our water alarm came from Grangers . a high 
  pierced alarm runs off a 9 volt battery. the sensor lays within 
  two feet of the sump pump hole. L
