Yeah, lots of new toys, there are hundreds of blind friendly aps.  this podcast 
discuss, many friendly aps, for listening to radio stations, and various audio 
scanner feeds. and many other aps.  the really nice thing about these programs, 
most are very, very low priced,  are free...

    Actually you'd be surprised at what apps are accessible and most 
  developers are willing to listen. I in fact purchased an app that lets 
  me listen to thousands of radio stations on the web and the developer 
  worked with a number of blind folks to make sure his app was as 
  accessible as possible. He is also a very responsive person and added 
  a radio station for me that was not in the list.
