Thanks.  I checked and the top of my framing is parallel to the ceiling, 
so I made the side jams perpendicular to the top jam.  Actually, I need to 
check that again.  The side jams are definitely parallel, but I need to 
take some diagonal measurements to be certain they are perpendicular to 
the top.

I had some incorrect concepts about how the doors actually work.  I have 
seen bifold doors in the past that had top and bottom rails, and the free 
end of the door actually rested on a pin in that lower track.  The doors 
everyone describes now, and the doors I purchased, do work as you explain. 
The top pin is just a guide and there is no lower track.  The doors are 
completely supported at the hinge end.
