I kind of look forward to the story if some idiot tries to steel your bag.
He'd have to be an idiot to test a dog like yours.

  Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Alarm

My brother has tracked down what sounds like exactly the type of alarm that I
want, and the beauty of it is that when I no longer need it as a "leave my
dinner alone! you thieving ratbag dog!" I can use it as it was intended: a
3-in-1 personal alarm: not that I have ever felt the need of such a device, but
who knows what awaits me around the next corner.
It is designed to go into a handbag, and if the bag is snatched, a 130
decibel alarm is triggered. There are two sockets. In one, there is a loop to
which you can tie a string which then is attached to your writs and if the bag
is snatched, well then, all hell breaks loose.
With the other socket, a cord is plugged into it, on the other end of which
are two little prongs that are squeezed together when you close a door on them.
When the door is opened and the device falls out, thus releasing those prongs,
again, all hell breaks loose!
In training the dogs not to take things off the table, I could tie something
to the tplug connected to the first socket, or I could place something that has
a little weight with it on those prongs, and when, or if,the weight is removed,
it would be the same as the door being opened.
