Rough service bulbs such as used in trouble lights you can probably find at the 
box stores.  A better choice would be a traffic light bulb, which you might 
have to go to a electrical supply house.  They come in strange wattages such as 
59 or 69 watts, but they last a looonnnggggg time.

  Ihave one outside light which is in a glass dome that is up under the 
  front porch out of the weather. usually I put in a standard 60 wat 
  bulb. it lasts maybe 2 years but wondered if there is something elese 
  I could find at lowes or Walmart tomorrow night which might look
