Well, thanks to all. There were a lot of things wrong with the translations of the first set of plans. I had one set on tape that really did not match what was sent to me. This afternoon the project coordinator came and brought several more different sets. Most with the angles would be a little difficult for the kids. So I ended up taking the best ideas from all of the plans and made a prototype that should be easy for the kids to use. It will have a flat roof that extends over the sides where I made the 3/8 inch long vent. Also on one of the plans they recommended several 1/8 inch grooves under the hole both inside and outside so the Bluebirds can hold onto the box. The basic idea came from the plans that Ray located only another big modification was to make the side door as opposed to the front. The woman who visited told me that out of all the nesting boxes she used the side opening is the best. So this thing is a mix of about 4 different plans. One tip that I read was to cut about 1/2 inch from the corners of the bottom for drainage. It was easier than getting out my drill. I put it all together with cabinet screws so the kids can take it apart if they want templates.
