Well, I did it. I wasn't in a rush, but slipped up on safety.
Took a nibble out of my finger with the miter saw.
I have always made it a practice to bring the blade down without power to
make sure my hand is clear.
Always, except this one time.
I'm very thankful I didn't lose the finger.
Now I have attached a block of wood to the blade guard of the miter saw.
Then I have two strips of wood that pivot on that block and reach down to
the bed of the miter saw.
Now I can't get my hand in the way of the blade without running into these
wood strips.
When the saw comes down, the blade guard pulls these strips of wood up out
of the way for the cut.
I will still continue the practice of bringing the blade down without power,
but now I'll have an extra level of safety.
Blessings,
Tom
