About a year ago we replaced our kitchen fixture with one that takes T8 bulbs. They are brighter but don't last very long. The first 4 we bought at the same time as the fixture have all gone out. Think twice before changing to T8. They are a smaller diameter and I assume that more light from a smaller size means they run hotter.
