I built one for our cats several years ago. It is outside so they can be outside and enjoy watching the birds and getting fresh air. I didn't include any carpeting but they had rough wood which was good for their claws and gave them lots to scratch. I thought about installing a pole or tunnel but never made it. I used plain old pine and had a second level which they could acces up a ramp. I enclose it with simple garden fencing and made a door by which we could put them in and retrieve them. My daughter painted it purple, after the K-State Wild Cats colors. We recently lost one of our cats, but they did get lots of pleasure in their old Cat house and I enjoyed telling folks I built a Cat House, haha!
