Hi all, *Summary:* I will be changing the default build behavior not to format generated blink bindings (CL <http://crrev.com/c/3560988>). If you regularly look at the generated code you can keep the current behavior by adding "blink_enable_generated_code_formatting = true" to your args.gn file. Code search will continue to index formatted code.
Formatting has a noticeable impact on build performance and most developers don't look at the generated code. We've had the formatting disabled on CQ for 9 months without issue but developers have continued to pay the cost in local builds and elsewhere.
