Explainerhttps://github.com/whatwg/html/issues/11477

SpecificationNone

Summary

This feature extends customizable select support for other rendering modes
of select, including in-page listbox rendering via the size attribute and
multi-select via the multiple attribute.

Motivation

Multiple select is a very common use case on the web which is why we need
to support the multiple attribute for customizable select. Supporting
in-page rendering also allows authors to build their own picker or dialog
to show the listbox, or use the listbox in-page rather than inside a popup.
