Thank you for your responses. I will note that although selection switches
to clip-like behavior, it seems like cmd-a (on mac) to select all does not
seem to switch the ellipsis to a clip-like behavior, not sure if that's
intentional.

I don't know if there's interop between browsers, since I could spot a few
differences between how Firefox and Chrome (with the flag) work, but I
think the spec allows for both behaviors.
