Right, you have to have a hardware synth as well as a screen reader that works in kernel space. But that can be necessary if you are a professional systems administrator. Well, I suppose there are always alternatives. You could use a serial terminal and get access almost as good. But a screen reader that starts during boot can be a life saver.
