r1409197 fixes based on the patch from olemis (avoiding ternary operator)
I wonder whether it would add clarity to change to using {{{if t.realm ==
'ticket'}}} to distinguish the cases where the parent should be found but
I am not aware of other cases where this would be necessary at this point.
