You really don't have to worry about ZODB ability to be used at enterprise level applications. ZODB has been used for more than a decade and is at the core of (among others) Plone or CPS, which itself are used by large organizations, such as ST Microelectronics, L'Oréal, some french ministries, for large intranets or applications, etc... The ZODB is *really* enterprise level, but more important than the ZODB is the code you'll write. Most problems found in Zope applications come from application code, not the ZODB or Zope itself.
