Subject: Thirteen Steps/sung at Public Hangings SE KY late1800's, early
1900's?

Hello, First I want to tell you beautiful your music is. Thank you!
I am trying to learn about an old song. My great grandfather was supposed
to have played this song during public hangings around SE Kentucky in the
late 1800's/early 1900's on his fiddle. He lived around Breathitt and Perry
counties in Kentucky. It may possibly be called Thirteen Steps, all my
uncles can recall is it was a mournful tune but no one remembers the words.
Does this sound like anything you all have ever come across?
  Yours truly, Teri Norman Sechrist
